Guelph-based engineering firm, RWDI (Rowan Williams Davies and Irwin Inc.) was selected to provide the wind analysis for the Kingdom Tower in Jeddah.

According to RWDI’s project director, Jon Galsworthy, work at the Kingdom Tower began in March 2010. The site of the Kingdom Tower is quite windy, mainly because of it being in the proximity of the Red Sea. Thus, the wind analysis is an essential for this type of tall building.

The Kingdom Tower will be the fourth tallest building of the world that RWDI provides wind analysis for. Thus far RWDI worked on the Petronas Towers, the Taipei 101 and on the Burj Khalifa.
